DUNCAN HOUSE REPORT 1/10/16

TODAY, yes, on late Sunday afternoon, we got the master craftsmen together to coordinate the building of and later installation... of the big windows and front door unit.  Danny Shook, James Ford and Thad Pratt, Vicksburg....Thad is building the windows and door unit per specs from Chelius Carter.  Thad was in town today and we took the opportunity to make sure we were all singing from the same page of the hymnal!

It's been a while since I've given a report on the progress of the Duncan House project.
Actually, although not very visible from the street, we have made progress.  We have nice real steps on the back, leading into the utility room that now has a floor, door and is awaiting its finished floor.

Much work has been done leveling up all the floors of the house.  I didn't know there was a such thing as a 'permanent jack' that you put under the floor, level, then leave it in place.  Anyway, we have the floors of the house fairly level.  Cracks in the walls from the moving have been repaired and await painting.  Michael Hoge has finished the interior fireplace and it's beautiful.  We are installing bookshelves in one of the sitting rooms.

In the next few days we will be putting on the 'skirt' or 'trim' around the bottom of the house, which will cover the visible under structure, and hopefully, we will be repairing the 'shed' damage from the move....and the falling limb.
